What is RacersWithData?
RacersWithData (RWD for short) was established with the goals of:
Familiarising sim racers to the vast data available to them and how it could be used to improve their performance on the virtual track.
Creating opportunities for real life engineers to develop their skills to analyse and evaluate sim racing data and give feedback to sim racers on how to improve their race craft.
We hope to achieve this by sharing what we know through our blog and YouTube channel. Although relatively new, we hope to gain your trust and we hope to be apart of your sim racing journey.
The Person Behind RacersWithData
RWD is the brainchild of Faiz Aziz.
What started as a father-son weekend bonding activity (watching F1 during Schumacher/Hakkinen era) turned into a life long passion for racing. The dream of racing in real life however is not meant to be, but being actively involved with racing is always a life long goal.
A graduate from University of Melbourne, Faiz was also part of the university's Formula SAE team as both an active member in designing the Chassis and Bodyworks of the car as well as being one of the team's driver. He is currently employed as an R&D engineer in one of the world's leading tire company.
With sim racing making racing more accessible to the masses, a niche gap is emerging: virtual race engineers. RWD was created to educate real life engineers with a passion for racing on how to fill this gap, and to educate sim racers on the importance of having a good race engineer.
